Grooming Report

January 24, 2025 FSA Grooming Report

CONDITIONS:

This morning: -19C in town this morning, -11C at cabin elevation this morning with 20km/hr winds. 0cm new snow in the past 7 days . Total snowpack heights variable based on riding zone but 178 cm measured at the plot at 120cm measured at upper elevations in exposed areas tis week. Total snowfall this season 461cm.

The last two weeks have brought little new snow due to the typical January dry spell. Riders can expect a variety of conditions. In exposed areas at higher elevations, the snow is generally wind-hardened and firm, while mid and lower, sheltered zones seem to still be offering about 10 cm of softer, windblown snow resting on a well-packed base. All trails are in excellent condition.

Today: Sunny with cloudy periods, slight chance of morning flurries.  High -8 or -9.

Tonight: Clear with cloudy periods. Low near -15.

GROOMING:

JAN 20 - 24 2025: Due to overnight temperatures dropping to -20°C and winds ranging from 10-20 km/h, grooming operations have not been possible this week. We are closely monitoring the weather conditions and with warmer temperatures forecasted during the day we will be switching to DAY GROOMS until Jan 28th, 2025.

Staging is at our regular valley bottom parking areas and all trails have great coverage.

Coal Creek: Last full groom was Sat Jan 18th night. There has been partial day grooms on the lower trail this week.

Morrissey: Last full groom was Sat Jan 18th night.

Hartley: Groomed last week.
