CORBIN

Located just over the ridge from Alberta, this deep valley gives quick access to a maze of sub-alpine bowl and glade riding with stunning views of the surrounding alpine headwalls. Its general high elevation produces excellent early and late-season riding conditions. Suitable for all abilities.

The staging area, located immediately beside the entrance to TECK Coal Mountain Operations entrance gate, is quite small so come early to secure a spot. Do not park in residential areas or block highway.

The groomed trail leads south for 22km into the Flathead. Between the staging area and the end of the grooming there are several singletrack trails climbing up through the trees to reach a variety of riding areas. Most zones typically open into a flat sub-alpine meadows or lakes suitable for novice and intermediate riders - be mindful of overhead avalanche hazard and the large run out paths from the surrounding peaks.

Terrain beyond the meadows will reveal some of BC’s best tree riding zones and outstanding advanced riding opportunities for those willing to explore! Note that there are several motor vehicle closure areas and other land use restrictions in the area - read more HERE.

Immediately after the coal train loading station and small Corbin townsite you will see the staging area on the right-hand side of road immediately before the TECK Coal Mountain gate.

NOTE: No overnight camping, fires, or dumping is permitted in the staging area. Groups of 10 or more riders must notify the FSA prior to using the area for courses, events organized rides, etc as special permitting and regulations apply.
