January 19, 2025 FSA Grooming Report
CONDITIONS:
-16C at cabin elevation this morning with 20km/hr winds. 0cm new snow in the past 24 hours. 2cm in the past 7 days. Total snowpack heights variable based on riding zone but 185 cm measured at the plot at 120cm measured at upper elevations in exposed areas tis week. Total snowfall this season 461cm.
The last two weeks have brought little new snow due to the typical January dry spell. Riders can expect a variety of conditions. In exposed areas at higher elevations, the snow is generally wind-hardened and firm, while mid and lower, sheltered zones offer about 10 cm of softer, windblown snow resting on a well-packed base. All trails are in excellent condition.
Today: Mainly sunny. Possibly windy at times, mainly during the afternoon. High wind chill at times. High temperature -13 or -14.
Tonight: Clear with cloudy periods, increasing cloud a 40% chance of flurries late overnight. Low -18 or -19, high wind chill possible.
GROOMING:
JAN 20 2025: Due to overnight temperatures dropping to -20°C and winds ranging from 10-20 km/h, grooming operations are currently not possible. We are closely monitoring the weather conditions and will resume grooming as soon as it is safe and feasible to do so.
Staging is at our regular valley bottom parking areas and all trails have great coverage.
Corbin: Groomed from the staging area to the McClatchie and Barnes connector 3 days.
Coal Creek: Coal Creek, Doug Dean, Summit Trail, and Matheson groomed Saturday night.
Morrissey: Morrissey and McEvoy groomed Saturday night.
Hartley: Groomed 5 days ago.
Ram: Open. No grooming.
