Dec 30th, 2024 FSA Grooming Report
CONDITIONS:
-3C at cabin elevation. 32cm of new snow in the past 48 hours. 71cm in the past 7 days. Total snowpack heights variable based on riding zone but 227cm measured at the plot. Total snowfall this season 430cm. In classic Fernie fashion the weather has been moist at valley bottom with dry powder snow up top. Freezing line has been variable but expect heavier snow below 1540m or so (approx 1/3 way up the trail). Open and exposed areas are windblown snow with sheltered areas in the trees still holding lots of great powder riding from this weekends storm cycle.
Today: Mainly cloudy with morning fog patches. 40% chance of morning flurries, 70% chance of flurries during the afternoon. Minor to low end light accumulation, possible 1 to 4 cm. High -2 or -3.
Tonight: Mainly cloudy with a 70% chance of flurries during the evening. Cloudy with a 40% chance of flurries and possible clear breaks overnight. Minor accumulation possible. Low near -6.
GROOMING:
We’re Open! Staging is at our regular valley bottom parking areas and all trails have great coverage.
Corbin: Groomed from the staging area to the McClatchie and Barnes connector Dec 27th.
Coal Creek: Coal Creek, Doug Dean and Summit Trails groomed last night.
Morrissey: Morrissey and McEvoy groomed last night. Notch Trail groomed to the peak on Dec 28th.
Hartley: Groomed Dec 27th.
Ram: Open. No grooming.
