Jan 10 2024 FSA Grooming Report
Current Conditions:
Temperature inversion this morning : -6C up top and -17C at valley bottom with 15cm new snow in the past 24 hours, 41cm new snow in the past 48 hours, and 87cm in the past 7 days. Total settled snowpack heights 172cm or more in mid to upper riding elevations.
Today: Mainly cloudy with occasional snow or a few flurries. Light accumulation, possible 5 to 10 cm. Increasing wind, possible blowing snow and a high wind chill. High temperature near -12, trending colder during the day. Tonight: Cloudy with clear periods and a 40% chance of flurries during the evening. A few flurries or occasional snow developing late overnight. Minor to light accumulation. Windy, high or very high wind chill and possible blowing snow. Low near -25.

Early season conditions in all areas. Please watch for hazards and ride with caution. Very shallow snowpack and variable conditions at valley bottom on all trails but dramatically improves around mid-mountain.

Grooming:
Corbin: Open. Groomed yesterday from from staging area to Rain Gauge and Lower Barnes.
Coal Creek: Open. Coal Creek, Summit, and Doug Dean, McEvoy groomed last night. Matheson groomed yesterday. The lowest section of the Coal Creek Trail has two sections to be aware of under the current low snow:
A short hill that can become icy with low snow / traffic.
An ephemeral stream with open water running from the early December rain events and recent warm temps.
Morrissey: Open. Morrissey Trail groomed last night.
Hartley: Waiting for more snow before we start up grooming in the Hartley area.
Ram: The cabin at Ram is unlocked for the season.
