December 13th, 2024 FSA Grooming Report
CONDITIONS:
-6C at cabin elevation this AM. 0cm of new snow in the past 24 hours. 30cm new snow in the past 7 days. Total snowpack heights variable but around 142cm at the cabin.
Today: Mainly cloudy with a 40-60% chance of flurries, the greater chance during the morning. Minor accumulation possible, trace to 2 cm. High near -3.
Tonight: Cloudy, snow developing late evening or near midnight. Light accumulation, possible 3 to 6 cm. Windy at times. Low -5 or -6.
GROOMING:
We’re Open for the Season!
Thanks to the incredible early snowfalls, the FSA team has been hard at work preparing the trails for an early opening this weekend! All riding areas are open under early-season conditions, with a mix of track-packing and corduroy grooming where possible. Please ride with caution and stay alert for unmarked hazards as the season kicks off.
Corbin: Groomed from the staging area the McClatchie and Barnes connector Dec 7th.
Coal Creek: Road building and track packing started up on Nov 24th. Coal Creek, Doug Dean, Summit Trails, and part of the way up Paige’s Draw have all been built as well as the road up the Matheson to the Mic Towers. Last night the crew were finally able to lay down the first officially full corduroy groom on the full trail network - Coal Creek, Doug Dean, Summit Trail, and Matheson to the waterfall groomed last night.
Morrissey: Road building and track packing started Dec 4th. Morrissey trail, Notch trail and part of the McEvoy have all been built. The crew was able to lay down the first full corduroy grooms of the season last night on the McEvoy Trail and the Notch to the peak.
Hartley: First groom scheduled before Christmas as conditions allow.
Ram: Open. No grooming.
