December 7th, 2024 FSA Grooming Report
CONDITIONS:
-2C at cabin elevation this AM and snowing. 3cm of new snow in the past 7 days. Total snowpack heights variable but around 140cm at the cabin.
Today: Snow, possibly heavy at times. Moderate accumulation, possible 12 to 20 cm. Risk of freezing rain, mainly during the morning. Windy, possibly strong at the upper elevations. High 0 or -1.
Tonight: Mainly cloudy with a few flurries and evening snow showers. Light accumulation, possible 5 to 10 cm. Windy at times. Low near -4.
GROOMING:
We’re Open for the Season!
Thanks to the incredible early snowfalls, the FSA team has been hard at work preparing the trails for an early opening this weekend! All riding areas are open under early-season conditions, with a mix of track-packing and corduroy grooming where possible. Please ride with caution and stay alert for unmarked hazards as the season kicks off.
Corbin: Groomed from the staging area the McClatchie and Barnes connector.
Coal Creek: Road building and track packing started up on Nov 24th. Coal Creek, Doug Dean, Summit Trails have all been built. Yesterday, we also track packed and built the road up the Matheson to the Mic Towers and the cut blocks.
Morrissey: Road building and track packing started Dec 4th. Morrissey trail and Notch trail have all been built. Yesterday we also started pushing and building the McEvoy trail.
Hartley: First groom scheduled before Christmas as conditions allow.
Ram: Open. No grooming.
