January 30, 2025 FSA Grooming Report
CONDITIONS:
-5C at cabin elevation. The snow has started to arrive as of 7am this morning. Total snowpack heights variable based on riding zone but 170 cm measured at the plot at 110cm measured at upper elevations in exposed areas tis week. Total snowfall this season 461cm.
The last three weeks have brought little new snow due to the typical January dry spell. Riders can expect a variety of conditions. In exposed areas at higher elevations, the snow is generally wind-hardened and firm, while mid and lower, sheltered zones seem to still be offering about 10 cm of softer, windblown snow resting on a well-packed base. This will change as accumulations pick up over the weekend - up to 40cm expected Friday - Sunday. All trails are in excellent condition.
Today: Periods of snow. Light accumulation, possible 5 to 10 cm. Possibly windy at times. High -1 or -2.
Tonight: Periods of snow. Light to moderate accumulation, possible 10 to 15 cm. Windy at times. Low -4 or -5.
