January 1, 2025 FSA Grooming Report
CONDITIONS:
-8C at cabin elevation. 5cm of new snow in the past 48 hours. 67cm in the past 7 days. Total snowpack heights variable based on riding zone but 215cm measured at the plot. Total snowfall this season 435cm. Riders can look forward to 30-50 cm or more of settling snow from this week’s storm cycle. Conditions remain highly variable, with wind-affected snow at exposed high elevations and deeper, softer powder in sheltered areas at or below treeline. Over the weekend, mild temperatures and heavy traffic on the lowest valley-bottom trails prevented freshly groomed sections from setting up properly. Thanks to cooler temperatures and lighter traffic, the grooming crew has been able to get these sections back into prime shape.
Today: Mainly cloudy with fog patches and a few flurries. Minor to low end light accumulation possible, trace to 4 cm. Increased wind possible during the afternoon. High -5 or -6.
Tonight: Cloudy with fog patches, possible clear breaks and a 60% chance of flurries. Windy at times. Low -8 or -9.
GROOMING:
We’re Open! Staging is at our regular valley bottom parking areas and all trails have great coverage.
Corbin: Groomed from the staging area to the McClatchie and Barnes connector yesterday.
Coal Creek: Coal Creek, Doug Dean, Summit Trails, Matheson (left and right) groomed last night.
Morrissey: Morrissey and McEvoy groomed last night.
Hartley: Groomed Dec 27th.
Ram: Open. No grooming.
