Dec 28th, 2024 FSA Grooming Report
CONDITIONS:
-4C at cabin elevation this AM. 25cm of new snow in the past 24 hours hours and over 65cm new snow in the past 7 days (over 404cm total this season). Total snowpack heights variable but around 215cm at the cabins.
Today: Cloudy with occasional snow, accumulation 5 to 10 cm. Possibly windy at times. High -2 or -3.
Tonight: Periods of snow, easing to a few flurries late overnight. Light to moderate accumulation, possible 8 to 15 cm. Windy at times. Low near -4.
EVENT TODAY:
Bob Arnott Memorial Family Ride
Join us on December 28th, 2024 for our annual ride in memory of those we have lost from our riding community. This is a family friendly event and a day of reflection and celebration.
BBQ and snacks will be available at the cabin - FREE for FSA Members. Advanced registration is required to help us plan food and beverage.
The ride will depart the Coal Creek staging area at 10:30am and we will head up the trail in procession to the Rolling Hills Cabin. Here we will gather in celebration for a warm meal before observing a moment of silence. Riders can then disperse for the afternoon or follow the ride back down to the staging area. More info HERE.
GROOMING:
We’re Open! Staging is at our regular valley bottom parking areas.
Corbin: Groomed from the staging area to the McClatchie and Barnes connector last night.
Coal Creek: Coal Creek, Summit Trail, and Doug Dean groomed last night. Matheson groomed 4 days ago.
Morrissey: Morrissey, McEvoy groomed last night. Notch Trail groomed yesterday.
Hartley: Open. Several large trees removed off trail and groomed yesterday from staging area to East Fork or the Sulphur last night.
Ram: Open. No grooming.
FSA Wrench and Social yesterday - THANK YOU to Matt, Steve, Pete, and Justin for spending the day tackling some critical snowcat tiller work yesterday.
