That’s a Wrap!

Spring is now well underway in Fernie and we are officially shutting the doors on the 21/22 snowmobile season. Thank you to everyone for your outstanding support through our most trying season on record. We still have much work to do over the summer to complete trail restoration and get ready for next season so please keep in touch and watch how you can help out. More details coming shortly.

There is still approximately 3 meters of snow at upper riding elevations with the classic spring diurnal melt-freeze style conditions in effect. Our last day of grooming in all areas was Sunday, March 27th. Staff may still be on site at staging areas to assist with any questions through until April 3rd.

Coal Creek - CLOSED

Dirt from staging area up 2-3km. Please note that the new lower trail built around the flood washout mid-winter was constructed primarily by snow / snow bridges. With the spring melt, there are now sections of this new trail that are missing and trail is impassable by sled. It is not possible to drive beyond the staging area in a regular vehicle to reach the snowline. Our summer work list includes installing culverts and resurfacing the entire new trail for year round access. Please get in touch if you are interested in donating materials, equipment or man hour time one the ground to help us get this work done.

Morrissey

Dirt from valley bottom up 3km. Both parking lots are now closed for the season to preserve vegetation on these conservation lands. Parking only permitted on the main hardened road surface at this time. There is currently no suitable turn around on the road at snowline so trucks hauling trailers are strongly not recommended.

Corbin

Patchy snow and mud at valley bottom. Riding is still possible.

Hartley

Patchy snow and mud at valley bottom. Riding is still possible.

Ram - CLOSED

Large washout at 45km. Not passable in any type of vehicle. Cabin remains locked for the season. We will be working with our partners at Recreation Sites and Trails BC over the summer to determine the future of the Ram Cabin and riding area.

THANK YOU FOR THE GREAT SEASON!
