Grooming Report Dec 16 2022

Dec 16, 2022 FSA Groomer’s Report

Current Conditions:

6cm new snow in the past 24 hours. 29cm new snow this week. Total snowpack heights 105cm up to 2 meters in areas. Total snowfall this season is 330cm.

Special Notices:

  • Check the avalanche bulletin before you ride at www.avalanche.ca

  • Update on Pipeline construction / Morrissey closures HERE.

Grooming:

Corbin: OPEN. Groomed last night from the staging area to the McClatchie.

Coal Creek: OPEN. Road building in progress. Please watch for snowcats on a trail at all times. We will be working over the next few days to shape the trail and fill in bridges before our first scheduled ‘groom’ of the season on Friday night.

Morrissey: CLOSED. Tentative opening before Christmas. Currently demobilizing post timber harvesting activities. Snowcats will be working Dec 17-19th to rebuild the snow road and fill in bridges on the Morrissey trail from the staging area to the Wranglers Cabin. Do not drive up the road/park - you will likely be ‘trapped’ in by the snowcat. FSA will not be grooming the McEvoy or Pipeline this winter as the areas remain CLOSED for pipeline construction. Please see the map and further details HERE.

Hartley: OPEN. The first groom is scheduled for Dec 22, 2022

Ram: OPEN. No grooming. Cabin open. The Lodgepole FSR will be plowed from the lower Morrissey parking lot to the Flathead this winter for timber harvesting. Expect heavy industrial traffic at all times. There is excellent information regarding radio call up/down procedures, channel maps and more HERE.
