Weather:
0cm new snow overnight. 58cm in the past 7 days. Total snowpack height 270cm in most riding areas.
Grooming:
Morrissey: OPEN WITH SPECIAL REGULATIONS IN PLACE (CLICK HERE TO READ). Morrissey, Doug Dean, Summit Trail. McEvoy, Pipeline Return and up to the top of the second hill at the Notch. Construction on the new permanent bridge has been delayed by one week (Jan 17th) - there is active construction and equipment staging in the upper parking lot. Please do not park on the South side of the lot to allow trucks and equipment room to move around (see map in the link above).
Coal Creek: CLOSED/NO ACCESS PERMITTED. Machine work to rough in the new lower trail is now complete and we will have workers on site for the next 7 days removing further debris and building the snow road / snow bridges required to make the final trail connection. It is important that all riders STAY OUT of the area for both your safety and the safety of our team members. We are hoping to have Coal Creek open within the next 7-10 days.
Corbin: OPEN. Groomed from the staging area to the Rain Gauge last night. Active logging / hauling in progress - all riders must use the groomed trail on shoulder of the plowed road. Regular trail recommences after the Barnes Elliot junction. NOTE: We have been asked AGAIN to remind riders that the Michele / Tin Shed / Yellow Gates area is NOT a snowmobile staging area. There is a combination of issues at play here with riders snowmobiling in the neighboring motor vehicle closure area, up plowed roads, blocking gas line and logging workers, and reports of several near miss incidents with the private land owner and industrial workers/equipment - DON’T BE THAT GUY THAT WRECKS IT FOR EVERYONE AND GETS OUR AREAS SHUT DOWN! Drive the extra 5 minutes and stage out of the designated Corbin staging area, the extra 30 minutes to stage out of one of the many areas available in Fernie or go ride somewhere else.
Hartley: OPEN. Grooming start up scheduled for early of January.
