WEATHER
0cm new snow overnight. 11cm new snow this week. Total snowpack heights in most areas is 260cm. Fernie has had quite warm weather all week so riding conditions are generally sun affected and firm but there are still plenty of areas of untracked, windblown powder snow to be found in sheltered areas. Temperatures are trending cooler over the weekend with sunny skies which should make for incredible blue bird riding and scenic photo opportunities. Forecast is calling for snow to return on Monday with up to 35cm of new expected expected by next weekend.
GROOMED
Morrissey: Morrissey Trail, Doug Dean Trail, Summit Trail, McEvoy, Pipeline Return, and Notch trails groomed last night. Parking Lot connector trails groomed Monday. Both parking lots open.
Coal Creek: Open Sat/Sun weekly ONLY for trucks with decks due to construction and extremely limited parking. More info HERE. We anticipate repairs to be complete by Family Day Weekend. If you are riding Mon - Fri OR are pulling a trailer please use the Morrissey staging area instead… you can access the exact same trails from this staging location.
Corbin: Groomed from the staging area to the McClatchie Feb 8th. Active logging and hauling in progress 24/7 out of the Barnes / Elliot area. The FSA and Canfor have worked to build a bypass trail on the shoulder of the road for the first 6km to allow both groups to operate - sledders MUST use the groomed trail on the shoulder of the road. It is illegal and very dangerous to snowmobile on the plowed road.
Hartley: Last groom January 12th.
Ram: Closed to to large, impassable washout near km45. Cabin remains locked.
