Grooming Report: March 22


WEATHER

No new snow in the past 24 hours. 27cm new snow this week. Total snowpack heights in most areas is 320cm. Spring riding is here! Expect spring melt-freeze diurnal riding from valley bottom to mid elevations (frozen coral reef in AM, softening up around noon). Deep, dry, powder snow riding up top!

GROOMED

Morrissey: Morrissey Trail, Matheson Trail, McEvoy Trail, Summit Trail, Doug Dean trail groomed yesterday. Lower Morrissey parking lot is now closed for the season due to spring melt conditions / to preserve the underlaying vegetation (these are conservation lands). Lower trail is now mostly dirt and it is not recommended anymore this season.

Coal Creek: Coal Creek Trail groomed yesterday and has good snow coverage to valley boittom.

Corbin: Groomed Monday from the staging area to the McClatchie. Trail in excellent condition.

Hartley: Groomed Feb 16th from the staging area to the East Fork of the Sulphur.

Ram: Closed to large, impassable washout near km45. Cabin remains locked

12 hour grooming shift up Coal Creek and Morrissey yesterday to clean up following the weekend. We burned through a full tank of fuel in the cat and 6 jerry cans.
