WEATHER
6cm new snow overnight. 93cm in the past 7 days. Total snowpack heights in most areas is 315cm. Spring riding is here with an awesome reload of fresh snow at upper elevations. Expect spring melt-freeze diurnal riding from valley bottom to mid elevations (frozen coral reef in AM, softening up around noon). Deep and dry powder snow riding at mid to upper elevations thanks to this weeks storm cycle.
GROOMED
Morrissey: Morrissey Trail, Summit Trail, Doug Dean Trail groomed yesterday. Note that the Morrissey bridge over the Elk River is being re-decked and will be CLOSED Feb 28-Mar 3 and Mar 7 - 10th from 9am-5pm daily. However, construction on the new upper bridge damaged in the fall flood events is now complete. We will be reducing our parking lot plowing and connector trail grooming until the main lower bridge work is complete - Morrissey not recommended, use Coal Creek as an alternate.
Coal Creek: Coal Creek Trail groomed yesterday. TRAIL CHANGE: Please note that the ‘old’ trail does not exist anymore due to flood damage - the FSA has built a NEW trail this fall on the left bank of Coal Creek that rejoins the ‘old’ Coal Creek trail just above the Matheson junction.
Corbin: Groomed today from the staging area to the McClatchie.
Hartley: Groomed Feb 16th from the staging area to the East Fork of the Sulphur.
Ram: Closed to large, impassable washout near km45. Cabin remains locked
