Mini Griz Kids Derby

Lil’ Griz Sledder

10 am – 12 noon Sunday March 3

Fernie Golf Course

If you’ve got an up-and-coming sledder in the family a new Griz Days event will offer them a chance to experience what it’s all about. The Fernie Snowmobile Association is setting up a test track with a new Arctic Cat Mini Z120 for kids ages 3-8 to take a test ride on Griz Days Sunday.

This new event is an opportunity for families to learn more about snowmobiling in the Elk Valley from local experts and to see if junior is a natural born sled head! Association members will be offering guided lessons on how the machines work, safety practices and how to ride in control.

Children must be dressed in appropriate winter jackets, pants, boots and gloves. Helmets will be provided or bring your own. Parents/guardians must be present for children to ride.

As part of the FSA efforts to encourage family riding and to raise funds for their ongoing programs, the Artic Mini Cat is also the main prize in their Lil’ Griz Sledder Raffle. Tickets are available now at Ghostrider Motor Sports, at snowmobile trailhead kiosks and will also be for sale at the event. The winning ticket will be drawn at 12 noon Sunday at the conclusion of the test drives. Snowmobiling is a wonderful family sport and this is a great chance to get your kid on their own machine and stop hitching rides with the parents.

PLEASER NOTE THE SNOWDRAG RACES HAVE BEEN CANCELLED THIS YEAR DUE TO LOGGING ACTIVITIES TAKING PLACE THROUGH THE SNOW DRAG / DERBY GROUNDS.
