Morrissey & Coal Creek Groomer’s Report
March 22 @ 8:00 am - 5:00 pm
Conditions: 12cm new snow in the past 24 hours, 20cm in the past 48 hours. Freezing line during this weekend’s storm was generally about 1/3rd of the way up the mountain but transitioned to valley bottom as of this morning with good dry powder snow accumulating at up top! Total snowpack heights 200-250+cm in most riding areas.
- Morrissey & Coal Creek: Morrissey Trail, Doug Dean Trail, Summit Trail, East McEvoy and South Pipeline Trails, Coal Creek trail to the Matheson groomed last night. Notch groomed to the peak yesterday. Upper riding areas in excellent condition. The lowest trails from the staging area up approx 3km at both CC and Morrissey are now spring-like snow with occasional dirt, ice, and thin sections – some new snow starting to accumulate on lower roads. Morrissey parking lot connector trail in poor condition – recommended staging out of Coal Creek for more favorable riding conditions. Lower Morrissey parking lot closed for the season to protect underlying vegetation on the conservation easement.
- Corbin groomed from the staging area to the McClatchie March 26th– trail snow-covered and in excellent spring condition.
- Hartley groomed from the staging area to the East Fork of the Sulphur March 19th – trail snow-covered and in excellent spring condition.
