Groomer’s Report

January 10, 2019 @ 8:00 am - 5:00 pm

Thursday, January 10 2019

Weather/Snow: -1 C, no winds, 10cm new snow overnight, 64cm this week, total snowpack base is 195cm. Freezing level around 1500m.

Groomed: Corbin, Morrissey to Wrangler’s Cabin, Doug Dean, Summit Trail, Notch, NEW GROOMING: 6.5km of trail built from Wrangler’s Cabin out McEvoy East to pipeline junction. Please note: This trail extension is currently an out and back (or requires return via an ungroomed portion of the pipeline).

A reminder that River Road Extension and Coal Creek are CLOSED for snowmobiling by the private landowner – there is no access up Coal Creek, up the Matheson, or past Paige’s draw up to Martin / Leech via the road. Active hauling is in progress and the riding areas are currently stripped of snow from logging activities. The FSA has a zero-tolerance policy and fully supports the efforts of the landowner and conservation officers to enforce closures. IT IS ILLEGAL IN BC TO SNOWMOBILE ON A PLOWED ROAD! Those riding in closed areas, not stopping at the kiosk, or threatening FSA staff and volunteers may face fines and permanent loss of trail/facility access. Please help us spread the word and report information on anyone you see riding in these areas to info@ferniesnowmobile.com so we can provide education.
