January 4 @ 8:00 am - 5:00 pm
Conditions: 2C at valley bottom, 6cm new snow in the past 24 hours, 20cm in the past 48 hours, 57cm in the past 7 days. Rain from valley bottom to 1300m elevation (approx 10 minutes up the trail or below the graffiti rock). Light accumulations forecasted today with strong winds in AM.
Groomed: Morrissey Trail, Summit Trail, Doug Dean Trail. Please note we are grooming with the smaller BR180 snowcat this weekend while our main Morrissey Snowcat is in the shop for repairs (see yesterday’s facebook post for video). We anticipate the main cat to be repaired and back grooming for Monday. Lower Morrissey trail had excellent snow coverage with icy patches now covered as of yesterday – this morning’s lower elevation rain may have changed those conditions though. Good early season riding to be had out there but please be mindful of stumps and rocks lurking below the surface! Downed trees removed from Doug Dean Trail yesterday. Firewood pile dug out from under snow at Wranglers Cabin – please help us out and carry a few rounds from the pile into the new woodshed or cabin. New BBQ’s at cabins but they need to be assembled – if you have a few minutes while waiting for your lunch to warm up please feel free to help assemble and set up on the decks for all to enjoy.
