Coal Creek Update: We were given the green light last week to commence snow road building activities by the private landowner as they had completed timber harvesting activities in the Coal Creek area for the season. We have since hired heavy equipment to assist blading snow back on to the road from the banks in advance of sending the snowcat down the trail to complete the delicate task of actual trail building and grooming. The trail is in excellent winter condition from the Rolling Hills Cabin to Paige’s Draw. However, we are currently unable to continue work below Paige’s Draw down to the Coal Creek Staging Area due to pieces of logging equipment and significant debris including logs and rocks (see photos). The Coal Creek staging area is currently occupied by several slash piles and other debris which are prohibiting safe usage at this time. We will continue to monitor the situation and will work towards rebuilding the road as conditions permit but at this time, with no significant snowfall in the forecast, there is no ETA to having this staging area open for public this season. Please use Morrissey as your alternate access. Hartly, Ram, and Corbin staging areas also open.
