Morrissey Groomer’s Report
January 17 @ 8:00 am - 5:00 pm
Conditions: 4cm of new snow in the past 24 hours, 44cm in the past 7 days, total snowpack heights averaging between 170-200cm in most riding areas.
- Morrissey: Morrissey trail (extra passes to really clean it up from weekend traffic), Doug Dean Trail, Summit Trail, Notch trail to the peak groomed last night. ATTENTION ALL RIDERS: Please ensure that if you park on the road that you are not blocking logging trucks and heavy traffic. You must park OFF the roadway.
- Corbin: Staging area to the McClatchie groomed Jan 16th. Large tree down on the McClatchie – we’ll try and get team out in the next few days to remove.
- Hartley: Groomed from the staging area to the East Fork of the Sulphur Jan 15th. Truck drive 3km up fresh grooming yesterday. Please use trail with caution around these ‘ruts’ until we can get back next week to groom again.
- Coal Creek: Remains CLOSED to public parking and sledding for timber harvesting operations. Please note that this is PRIVATE PROPERTY. Landowners have advised that there is NOT PUBLIC ACCESS FOR ANY REASON PAST THE GUN RANGE at this time. The current amount of public vehicles using this private roadway has impeded the ability for them to do their work safely and efficiently. This has now resulted in a delayed opening of Coal Creek for winter trail grooming and may impact future public access to these lands.
NOTES: COVID signage posted in cabins is a requirement of our continued operation. If individuals continue to remove signage cabins will be locked and closed to the public.
